The Hudson River Shakespeare Company will hold auditions for its spring production of Coriolanus by William Shakespeare Wednesday, April 8, at 7 pm at McManus Hall, Wall St. Hudson Falls, behind St. Mary’s, St. Paul’s Church. No previous experience or prepared material is necessary however it is important to be on time. This production will be directed by company member Emily Austin

Coriolanus dramatizes the rise and fall of the Roman general Gnaius Marcus Coriolanus. This play focuses on the inability of an otherwise very successful general to overcome his personal bigotry against the working-class Romans, resulting in his exile and eventual death at the hands of the Volsces. This is a political play for our turbulent political times.

Rehearsals for this production will take place 6 pm to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday, April 20 – May 21. There will be four performances: two evening performances on May 22 and 23 at 8:00 PM and two matinees on May 23 and 24 at 2:00 PM at The Strand Theatre, Hudson Falls.
